Overview

SignatureMaker ("we", "our", or "the app") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle your information when you use our iOS application.

The short version: Document scanning, OCR, annotation, signing, and export happen on your device. Your document library may sync through your private iCloud account. We also use limited, content-free analytics and provide an optional feature-feedback service, as described below.

Data Collection

SignatureMaker does not require an account. We do not:

Upload document images, recognized text, signatures, document names, or folder names to our analytics service
Sell personal information or use advertising trackers
Require account creation or login

The app records anonymous feature events such as whether a scan, annotation, or export succeeded, along with counts such as page totals. These events do not include document content, user-entered names, document or folder identifiers, or raw error messages.

Local Processing

All features of SignatureMaker operate entirely on your device:

Document scanning and image processing
Signature creation and storage
Annotations, stamps, and watermarks
PDF generation and export
OCR text recognition

Your documents and signatures are not sent to our servers. They may leave the device when you explicitly share or export them, or when Apple syncs your library through iCloud.

Device Permissions

SignatureMaker may request the following permissions:

Camera: To scan documents using your device camera
Photo Library: To import images from your photos

These permissions are only used for their stated purposes and data is processed locally.

iCloud Sync

When iCloud is available for the app, your document library, pages, folders, signatures, and annotations may sync across your devices through Apple's CloudKit service. This data is stored in your iCloud account and is handled by Apple under Apple's privacy terms. We do not copy your document library to our own servers.

Third-Party Services

Aptabase: receives the anonymous, content-free usage events described above.
FeaturePortal: receives information you choose to submit when you open the feature-request area and send feedback.
Apple: provides iCloud/CloudKit, StoreKit, App Store ratings, and system sharing.

The app does not contain third-party advertising.

Website Analytics

This website uses Vercel Analytics and Speed Insights to measure aggregate visits and performance. These website measurements are separate from your documents and signatures in the iOS app.

Children's Privacy

SignatureMaker is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect children's personal information. If you believe a child submitted information through the optional feedback service, contact us so we can address it.

Changes to This Policy
